Equipment

Being truthful, the initial investment required for PPL equipment isn’t cheap. If you’re lucky, you can buy second hand from eBay, Vinted or Facebook Marketplace (even if you choose to buy new). But the cost of items such as a decent headset or tablet weren’t cheap either. However my mantra has always been, ‘buy cheap, buy twice’. I thought I was best investing in a decent headset from the outset, as it would look after me throughout my flying training.

As a rough estimate, I’ve probably spent close to around £2000 for all my equipment. So it’s definitely something to factor into your flight financing, as you will often be expected to already have a lot of this (or at the very least, schools can sell you it).
